You will find the Ekberga farmhouse along the winding village streets in Södra Mellby high above the old fishing village Kivik. It is a harmonious rolling landscape with apple orchards and wineries just around the corner. The Ekberga farm, an epitome of the Scanian old style farm, dates back to the mid 1800 's. It was bought over a hundred years ago by Axel Nilsson, and his wife to be Augusta Ekberg, hence the name of the farm. Nowadays Ekberga is a creative oasis where artists meet art lovers.
In my art studio, there are a variety of creative activities. Everything from my own artistry, art courses, exhibitions, and other cultural engagement such as story telling events.
Art courses are very popular here. Imagine a studio with 100 sqm and a ceiling height of 5 metres, where you have your own large table, and easel in your own area. In the restored stable of 80 sqm you will find material tables, and work surfaces for cutting paper, drying paintings etc. Proper lighting, picture display in large format, and the light that flows in through the large glass doors. To the east, a charming paved patio where it is served vegetarian lunch. Afternoon tea with homemade cakes. If it rains, we eat in my private dining room on the farm, and you are never more than 12 participants for a course.
When you go out through the glass doors to the west you are greeted by rolling corn fields, and around the corner, a kitchen garden with cherry treas that surrounds the patio where someone might set out to paint. Or perhaps you prefer the formal garden on the front towards the village street for painting or reflection?
